It never fails – you go to sleep, or you go out of town on work, and that is when an emergency pops up. Some emergencies are more of a nuisance than anything. What Types of Sewer Emergencies Are There?

There are several types of sewer emergencies. You never want to try and manage these issues alone. It could result in you getting incredibly sick.

  • Broken sewer pipes can leave your yard or your home full of raw sewage. This could ruin your home if not treated properly.
  • Offset pipes means that instead of having two pieces of pipe that stay lined up, they become misaligned, or offset. A lot of sewage can leak when the pipes become offset, but it is often an easier fix than a broken pipe.
  • Clogs can also lead to sewage coming back into your home. Having a sewer pipe get clogged means that the sewage cannot drain properly, leaving it to run backwards, into your home.

How Can You Avoid Sewer Emergencies Like These?

One of the best ways to avoid sewer emergencies is to inspect your sewer line regularly. This lets you have a good idea as to what condition your pipe is in. If there are cracks or if there is buildup, it can be fixed before you have a clog or a backup. Another way that you can avoid a sewer issue is to make sure that you only put safe items into your sewer drain. By avoiding items that could lead to a clog, you can avoid some of the emergencies from ever taking place.
